I DO Weddings by Sheri

Sheri was awesome in helping us surprise all of our friends and family in kind of an ambush, unexpected, wedding!! I would and will definitely recommend her to friends, family and anyone looking.

Everything started out great. We met in person and she seemed very professional. She said we could design our own ceremony and she would read whatever we liked. She even gave us a huge word document full of ideas for vows and passages to be read. We were smitten. At the rehearsal, it seemed like this was her first time. She seemed a bit overwhelmed and didn't know what to say. At one point she asked if our ushers knew all of our grandparents and parents personally. When I told her that they hadn't met them yet, as they're from out of town and they hadn't had the chance, she seemed panicked. Not a good sign. What bride wants to be married by a panicky officiant? Isn't that my job? On the day of, were were horribly disappointed. Firstly, she was apparently, determined to start the ceremony on time (ok, sounds commendable, right? NOT) She started ceremony without the groom! That's right, our bridal party, even ring bearer and flower girl, walked down the aisle without the groom in sight. He came striding up to start the ceremony and found that it had all started without him. He walked down the aisle seconds before I did. And the icing on the cake. SHE DIDN'T READ THE VOWS WE WROTE. I'm guessing that she glanced at the vows we sent her (after spending many evenings drafting and perfecting them), recognized the first few lines from her word document, and then pulled out some stock vows she already had. Not only that, but there were a few things we had even discussed and she had commented on earlier, in face to face conversations, that she didn't follow through on. Such as us stating our vows independently (ie, not repeating her) that she thought were SO romantic. Yeah, didn't happen at all. She had us repeat after her. And the absolutely unforgivable part: The reason we had a secular officiant is that we are a secular couple. We did not want God mentioned in our ceremony at all. This was an area of tension on our wedding day, as some of our family members thought we should have been married in a church. We had discussed this with her at length.. So what does the WONDERFUL Sheri do? "repeat after me, I ___ take the ___ to be my wife... bla bla bla... HOLY matrimony. Seriously? Ruined our wedding day. After it was all said and done, I chalked it up to.. oh well, something had to go wrong right? At least we'd get a decorative marriage license out of it. WRONG... it took over a year for her to send our decorative license to us (after multiple reminders) and when we got it, it was a scanned copy of an embossed marriage license. UGLY. I killed a spider with it and burned it in our fireplace the night we got it....

Sheri responded to all my requests very quickly and professionally. She worked with me on the type of ceremony I was looking for as well as picking out a ceremony location on our resort site. She was helpful the whole step of the way. We had some trouble with the booking office in obtaining the license. Sheri responded to my concerns when I sent her a text message at 1230am and made some phone calls herself to help resolve the situation. Everything turned out as planned. I highly recommend using Sheri for ALL your wedding needs.

Sheri, You are an all around gift from God. You stepped in when needed and performed my ceremony in the mid-day in a clam professional manner. The arch was AWESOME I couldn't have asked for anything more. Everything was so breathe taking and original, I know that the things I had at my wedding will not resurface at another. You are down to earth , easy going, very understanding and willing to work with all aspects of a wedding.
